Studies show that significant numbers of healthcare practitioners experience stress and stress related illness. This 8 week training in mindfulness aims to strengthen our innate capacity as humans to deal with stress.
In developing a greater self awareness, we as healthcare workers, can learn to identify stress in the body and mind. Rather than going down the habitual fight or flight stress reaction, we can learn to respond with greater creativity, becoming more resilient. While we can’t always change the challenges that arise during our working day, we can learn to become more stress hardy. In learning to take care of ourselves, we can then take better care of our patients and clients.
