Jared Gottlieb
Jared Gottlieb, LCSW uses a psychodynamic approach informed by Insight Meditation, mindfulness, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, and gestalt therapy to help you recognize what’s most important to you, what causes you the most suffering, and figure out how to best make life decisions from that knowing. It’s not the job of a therapist to tell you who you are or what you should do; rather, a good therapist is a collaborative support to help you understand yourself better and make the changes you’ve been wanting to make in your life.
Jared was trained by the Smith School for Social Work, one of the most revered psychodynamic therapy programs in the United States. Jared also has a significant background in mindfulness, as he was mentored to be a mindfulness teacher by Tara Brach, one of the pioneers of incorporating meditation into therapy. He also held a counselling fellowship for over two years where he worked with the world’s leading mindfulness teachers at the Insight Meditation Society, birthplace of the modern mindfulness movement.
Jared offers both individual and couples therapy. He loves helping people recognize the hidden agreements shaping their lives, and rewrite that agreement to best make space for and cherish the wholeness of their beings.
Jared has a special interest in supporting clients with the following circumstances:
-Looking for better ways to respond to anxiety and/or stress
-Relationship challenges
